Intellectual property has been THE SCAM here since the beginning because it can only be enforced by artificial means and by way of the enforcement powers of the State. IP is not a natural law and relies on a monopoly granted by states.
As such, to center this discussion in terms of IP is useless. If your work depends entirely on selling your "intellectual property" to others - and not intellectual labor which is a totally different concept -, then you were always under a very perilous position, because copyright law was since the beginning not an authors' law but a publishers' law.
Go tell OpenAI and Anthropic to completely open-source and publicly divulge their code, models training prompts, and algorithms and lets see what they say to you. Their business model depends on IP law as much as traditional software and media companies. Only that they don't want that to be revealed so they center this discussion on absurd concepts such as safety and security.
