Let me be less cryptic (no pun intended)
What's interesting for me is that Bitcoin was the end of my "Self sovereignty", not the beginning.
You are using examples of failures in that journey, to explain why you should fear that process. It's the same method insurance companies use to sell insurance.
The policeman who doubled as a lock smith, tried to explain why we needed better locks than the ones he was replacing. I explained their hadn't been in crime in our village for over two centuries and that during the summer most leave their front doors open. He couldn't understand this, because his life was spent dealing with crime.
I have spent a life being self sovereign, which is why I'm here doing what I'm doing now, exactly as I please. I'm not trying to sell anything, or teach anything, or preach anything, but I have lived a life that is the opposite to the examples you wish me to pay attention to.
I once wrote an article, "Learn from Losers", explaining that businesses have more to gain learning how they might fail rather than listening to success gurus.
Here, I'm suggesting reversing that paradigm. Don't learn from losers, in the same way fresh convicts shouldn't be listening to the hardened felon they are forced to share a cell with.
Maybe we should be focusing on the winners not the losers in this case.
