National guard is reserve component Army/Air Force every state has its own NG which has 2 sides Army NG and Air NG both are reserve components of active duty Army and Air Force they’re basically same as reserve component from the Army,Navy,AF,USMC. 1 major difference NG initially falls under state’s governor called title 32 orders. NG can also be activated POTUS which is title 10 orders. T10 orders count for active duty T32 doesn’t. I lot of people don’t understand how the NG works
