There's a good chance that if I started being more assertive, I would be steamrolled a lot less, & it might not really involve that much conflict.

Currently I am pre-empting conflict. I don't wait for conflict to arise. I erase conflict as soon as it begins to appear.

Easier. It's just easier. If you never allow moments to arise where what you want is in conflict with someone else, you can just skip the whole ordeal.
