Railway electrification ticks lot of boxes for me (train nerd, environmentalist, faster acceleration etc.), it's just a shame that most of the investment continues to go into London whilst Manchester Victoria continues to fill with fumes (and will do so for a long time as new diesel trains were only purchased a few years ago and will run for 20+ years)
