Been using Gemini for almost 6 months.
I actually think Claude sucks now.
Like I don't need a complete dissertation on how the CSS file was rearranged. I'm sure people who fine-tune Claude API have a better time but I didn't like Claude API at all.
Benchmarks are useless to me so I have nothing to add about them.
Gemma models are also awesome and totally free.
When I first tried Gemini, it was actually terrible. I never thought I would even give it another chance. That was just earlier this year. Since they gutted Windsurf it seems it took a few months to overhaul Antigravity and at this point, it's actually good enough. I love their models and don't waste time or money on other options.
I imagine eventually as the bubble swells, the pricing or token budgets will dwindle back to reality, but 2026 was a banger fucking year to board the Gemini train. Early 2026 not so much.
