I don't know; Bender et al.'s "stochastic parrots" framing is widely criticized as not being an accurate reflection of how LLMs work and what they're actually capable of. Regardless of the harms and the ethics, we should be accurate about the actual capabilities of the thing. Otherwise we lose all credibility with those we hope to convince.
