For just feeling the vibe of the city being alive, I do like walking down Whyte Ave on a Friday night. And the smaller free festivals with their often chaotic mix of family fun & food trucks & music & more. I often end up watching the crowd as much as the performers.

But you might enjoy more something quiet, like a arts & craft market. There are lots going on this month (although note many of the winter indoor markets have a small entrance fee).

And hopefully you can find some sort of community-scale regular event or place where you can drop in & get to know people (without committing to a specific schedule). For me, that's dancing at The Commercial & other blues shows, and now playing at open stage music nights. For the first few years here, my ex & I were regulars at the Monday night improvized soap opera Die-Nasty.

It sure would be nice if there was more overlap between that & the more progressive, public health-aware crowd on here, but its good to see beyond my bubble & maybe pop others.
