Okay just saying, I get a lot of startups who start their pitches to me asking, "when was the last time you experienced being lonely?".

This is a spectacularly bad start to a pitch for me. Mostly because I have NEVER felt lonely in my ENTIRE LIFE. I have missed people. I have been sad because a relationship has ended. I have wanted to share my positive experiences with others. But I have not ever felt uncomfortable about being alone.

Now I know that's unusual. Most people do feel some kind of loneliness. But that doesn't mean I *should* ever feel lonely.

And when you are trying to pitch a product or solution to loneliness, it is literally never a good idea to assume that people must have once felt lonely. It's actually kind of judgy. And that's ironic.
