This morning I discovered Privacy Flip for Android: https://github.com/dorumrr/privacyflip

This app allows you to control what your phone is (or isn't) doing while it's locked using either root or Shizuku permissions. I'm using it to enable airplane mode and disable the cameras/microphones when my Android game consoles and tablet are locked. When they're unlocked, all of that is instantly reversed. And this way, they don't die so quickly while they're sitting in my daily bag at home. So I dont need to worry so much about charging them up every day.

I could see this being useful for someone that wants to be ultra-conservative with their battery life on their phone, too, as long as they're okay with missing phone calls.
