A wee PSA
Chronic illness means relapses, plateaus, ongoing management, not a clear endpoint/recovery.
While the intention is kind, “get well soon” doesn’t always land the way you might hope. Not just because it’s not possible, but because it’s a reminder of how society views illness, as something to overcome rather than something to live with.
What I prefer is:
“I’m thinking of you.”
“That sounds hard.”
Emojis also work.
