Patents aren't bad. The system has been abused and changed into something that shouldn't be. There's a list of things a mile long to do but you could fix it. You should be able to make money on something you create for a certain amount of time before it becomes public. This keeps motivating people to create but that time needs to be reasonable. Shelving innovation shouldn't be allowed either.
