using signal is such an incredibly frustrating user experience. they REALLY need some kind of non-cryptography dev on their team. i understand, the cool cryptography and security math is veeeeeeeery fun to do, but also if you actually want people to USE your app, maybe make a good app too
for instance:
1. the desktop client and the mobile app look similar but function completely different wrt many things including stickers
2. there's not even a search bar for stickers
3. embedded images don't zoom in in-app but open the browser. WHY EVEN HAVE AN EMBED THEN.
4. you can add an ipad as secondary device. YOU CAN'T ADD AN ANDROID TABLET AS A SECONDARY DEVICE. this is bullshit
it's like. fine, as a replacement for like. fuckin SMS. but its extremely lacking as a modern chat app in terms of UI polish
the fact that to share an image from my tablet i have to first send it to myself and then download it on my phone because theres no tablet app is INSANE.
