I think we made the right choice yesterday. The wind at home is sustained 47mph, gusting 66mph as I write with more to come. I don't think we would have been able to open the gate at those speeds, let alone what we might find along the way.
Unfortunately there was a very antisocial group at the hotel, making a lot of noise until 3.00am so it's going to be a long day today. Still, we're safe, and the possibility of difficulties along the way had been swerved.
