Okay, fair enough.

Now we can just say "importing African refugees is not God's will", and they can say "yes it is", and the only way to resolve that disagreement is to fight it out. There's like a billion Catholics, I would not want to face all of them.

My thought process is that maybe we can say "important African refugees is not going to be good for our people in the long term, and here's why ...", which is something that anyone with the capacity for reason can follow.

This has the potential to save us all getting exterminated by Catholic death squads, but we have to accept the notion that a scriptural interpretation can be adjusted if it conflicts with what is decided to be good for our people.

I get it that changing the rules is dangerous as hell, but when you're heading for a wall it's not like there are a lot of other choices...
