A YTer I follow just made a video partly touching on whether people being upset that a content creator changes direction after they become big is an instance of a parasocial relationship or not.
I... don't think so? Why would it be any different than being upset that your favorite show changed directions? The problem would be if you decided to harass the creator about it, but being upset and hitting unfollow is... yeah, that happens?
