Gunn's DCU simply isn't bankable in the way the MCU still is (despite the long decline).
If some of the "content" is very adult like Peacemaker or Clayface or the storytelling is somewhat non-traditional (like Supergirl) then there is no singular, large audience that will be watching every video someone makes about every project. There is no "built in" fanbase that can simply be relied on.
