yeah, I consider being paid to speak, and being paid for travel to be different things. Being paid for travel and accommodation would be a pretty low bar that small local user group+ style conferences would be ok with, but I’d expect larger national conferences to cover. Paying for speaking, as in a fee, that I’d not expect for any of the conferences I’ve attended.
