Sounds similar to thunderstorms that confronted a friend and me at Crater Lake the beginning of the month. Each of us saw multiple cloud-to-lake lighting strikes. We sheltered in the Rim Village visitor center. We got some pictures during lulls in the storms. We could see on the radar that new storms kept forming right there as the winds climbed up over the mountains. So we gave up on planned hikes.
