A couple of decades ago, when we would have 6" or more of overnight snow and 12" drifts on the road, and I had a 35 mile commute to a teaching job, I would get up at 6am to put a heater in the car, sweep the snow off, shovel the drive clear, shovel the road clear, and then have breakfast.
Then I would help the neighbours get their cars out before heading off to work myself.
I feel too old and tired to do that now.
