I disagree
The point scoring, outrage and spectacle are what the public is being fed to keep us distracted from the oligarchy and to manufacture a reality that benefits the oligarchy.
The problem with politics is oligarchy capture of all the pillars of social control. Political point scoring is just one part of the content gen pillar.
NB: This is a worldwide problem, not only UK. It's why democracy is fading everywhere.
