my tinfoil hat take is that a lot of business owners are part of circles, like political conventions and golf buddies, where they’ve been talking (networking) about how much of a bubble it is and the consequences if it pops suddenly. Like massive economic collapse. And everyone agrees that’s bad. Like really bad. So they’re pressuring people to accept it, even if just a bit, so that it makes a little money and doesn’t pop the bubble. And if they can make a little money while doing it, why not?
