Recovery is where point one usually breaks. A seed that lives in one head and one drawer is a single accident away from losing everything, and nobody tests it while things are calm. Multisig lowers the single-key risk but adds a failure mode: without the descriptor backup the keys alone rebuild nothing. Points one and four also pull in opposite directions. Self-custody removes the counterparty, then tax reporting puts you back into the system's paperwork, and that is where people get surprised after a few years of spending sats.
