well it took a lot longer than I had anticipated. I wasn't aware of the failings of a T2 Mac with Tahoe installed. Online forums and slop blogs were of no help. But I did finally manage to get a #Linux distro installed.
For anyone needing any advice on this, 1: find the T2 linux community. They have distros available that work. a straight install isn't going to work and their instructions, while not the greatest, are light years better than other online guides.
