and ironically LLMs made both of these worse (as well as machine translation, live subtitles etc)

obviously not a reason to police anyone using them (good luck finding a machine translator that's _not_ llm based in 2026, unless you like hunt down an old version of PROMT or sth lol), but worth mentioning that even in these uses that would seem perfect for these things they still suck ass

like google translate used to leave the things it can't translate untranslated, with rare exceptions

now it just routinely makes shit up :/
