A lot of data are showing a significant decline in the rate of population growth for the past several decades. We’re still increasing for now but the last projection I recall was that by the middle of this century we’ll flip over to the negative. We’ve had a pretty good run, as primates, 7-8 million years or so. I think WWIII will do us in but it might still take a while for the last of us to sign off.
