So, if nothing has changed since your last opinion, things will be a bit tricky. It’s still nighttime in Tokyo, and you’re still driving around on the expressways—though this time in a slightly more open area. But you don’t leave the expressways. You can stop in parking lots to tweak your vehicle or challenge people.

Most duels are 1-on-1, but there are also 1-on-X races—though unfortunately, those don’t come up very often.

But to address your main questions:

Only 1-on-1 races?: Mostly, with exceptions :D

Open world: Yes and no. It’s more of an open world in terms of the enormous highway network (it’s really huge).

Is the open world annoying? Not so far; it’s very well-balanced. You have the city center, which is very twisty, then industrial areas, highway interchanges, bridges, and long straights where you can really put the pedal to the metal.

If the constant nighttime is really getting on your nerves, there are two mods that are easy to install and include day-night cycles and even weather :D

Whether this is right for you. I’ll be honest—based on what you told me, and if you still feel that way today, then unfortunately it’s not for you. But if you're still interested, dove_7 made a great video about the game. You'll get to see a bit more of it, and maybe you'll be able to form a better opinion :D
