I understand cartoonist Randall of XKCD probably couldn't fit more in the "Holes" graphic. But for my interests, I noticed the absence of volcanoes🌋 and impact craters🌠 from a list of holes in the ground. Impact craters are limited to about half as deep as they are wide - so depth may be their least impressive feature. On the other hand, volcanoes have a natural unfair advantage for depth since they form from the deep. Examples from my recent photos: Meteor Crater AZ 2024 & Mt St Helens WA 2025.
