:myth-mj: Buttbabybirth420 (npub1h04…7ek7) Shiplap (npub1lgy…e8s2) In the case of Ruger it was hostile takeover by Beretta.
Ruger’s QC had dropped considerably after Covid, because 90% of their skilled workforce didn’t come back after the restrictions were lifted. As a result, Ruger had to hire new people who weren’t as experienced in building guns. The guns that were shipping to market often ended up needing to be sent back to the factory under warranty.
So Ruger’s sales began to drop considerably and as a result their stock value began to fall. Beretta then out of the blue began buying up Ruger’s stock and had accumulated over 30%, making Beretta the majority shareholder.
Beretta immediately installed a bean counter as president, and he discontinued production 90% of their product line. And the word is, this is a controlled demolition with the goal to have the entire product line gone by the end of next year and the company sold off shortly after.
