Pseudoterminals also don't exist as like, permanent devices unless I'm missing something. MartyPC can create one, but it's not attached to anything, which means I have to do some linux-specific magic to connect it to another pseudo-terminal after the fact, and it just becomes a whole bunch of platform-specific nonsense I don't want to deal with.
