It might not even be fun as much as someone thinking visual minimalism benefits users, and perhaps not considering the tradeoffs or not looking at them the same way you did.
One idea would be to show a few of these treatments side by side and discuss the tradeoffs.
The challenge is that even macOS does this (see: document proxy), so this is also about not treating these UI patterns blindly, or discussing the precedents.
