One key myth of Zionism is that in the early 20th century, Palestinians opposed all Jewish immigration to Palestine--or even rejected Jews out of antisemitism. In reality, many Palestinians were initially open to Jewish immigration and only started opposing Zionism after it became clear that Zionists didn't just look for a shelter for persecuted European Jews, but aimed to establish complete Jewish sovereignty over Palestine.
