It could not be clearer that what the EU is planning to do here is rebuild the Pig Empire, except without the US at its center. And I have no idea if that's a good idea - long term? Probably not. White colonialism has to die, because capitalism has to die and no capitalist ever created a lick of wealth - they stole that shit through violent colonialism (and slavery).
But in the short term - it makes a lotta sense for "the West" to ask "wait, besides the aircraft carriers, why do we need you?"
