I do write the odd software. I've never been responsible for making an office full of computers work, which is the image I always get when someone says IT.
Does that make me an IT person? I was once given feckless "IT" lessons at school in the 90s. The main benefit I took from that was improved typing speed. Later, I took a touch-typing course that was much more useful.
