spent way too long getting arch linux on a work machine today.. tldr:<li>ethernet controller can't muster more than 64b/s</li><li>wifi was non-existent</li><li>usb tethering worked</li><li>only one usb port worked</li><li>the keyboard on the laptop is broken so i need an external one</li>
so i had to plug ethernet in, start archinstall to let it sync package databases, swap out the keyboard for my phone to tether (unplugging ethernet to let it go faster), then swap back to the keyboard, configure the install, plugging ethernet back in to allow it to start downloading the kernel slowly, swap to my phone for tethering again, and unplug ethernet to make it fast
THIS TOOK 6 HOURS BECAUSE IT KEPT ERRORING
