fedi, recommend me your favourite #notebook vendors. gridded, ruled, or clear are all valid options. usage is idea dump, lists, longterm backref, rapid sketching. typically I pair with the Pilot G-Tech C4 pens (which are great for just fucking working immediately, super helpful when on-site doing stuff)
I've liked the moleskine ones esp because they've served me well on durability
