So, do y'all remember the way that the greedy gas and electricity supply companies relentlessly tried to brainwash us all into having 'smart' meters?

They claimed it would reduce our gas and electricity bills.
Well they don't.
What they will achieve is that they will reduce your estimated bills, but will not magically reduce your consumption, unless you 'go without'.

The real reason that there such a hard sell for 'smart' meters is because the utility companies can remotely cut off your supply or remotely change your tariff to pre-paid.

Now apply that example to digital ID:
It means that the government can turn you into a 'non-citizen', unable to access public services, that you have finacially contributed to, by simply remotely updating a flag on your record in the database.

Dystopian much?
