On the shores of Gaza, a 10-year-old boy serves coffee-not just to earn a living, but to soothe his weary soul with the sound of waves and the wisdom of breath. He listens to a psychologist's podcast, learning to inhale hope and exhale pain.
When I asked him what he wants to be when he grows up, he answered,
"A psychologist-to teach people how to heal their
own hearts."
This is the brilliance of Gaza's children: planting wisdom in ruins, dreaming fiercely while the occupation silences 30 to 40 of them each day, as if tearing spring from its roots before it has the chance to bloom.
