Comparisons of Trump to great leaders of the past like George Washington are specifically there as cope to try to convince you that this is all worth preserving, that the American Empire isn't gay and woke and broke and evil, and that you should just shut up and cheer for it. It's obvious why the GOP pushes this message but the boomer who eats it up does so out of cowardice. He knows he would never lift a finger to fight evil that threatened his community or his family so instead he pretends things are fine.
