Though mostly woods, these south facing patches close to road are mostly deciduous trees, so bare now. Sun comes in a few hours a day. If I start some cold frames, maybe hot beds if I can source some horse manure, or sheep or goat, I could plant beets, carrots, radishes, kales, leeks, spinach, maybe others? Harvest food before trees leaf out in May.
Been thinking of doing this for few years now.
Plenty of downed trees to make beds with.
