This week I read "Confessions of a Long Distance Sailor" by Paul Lutus. A self published diary of his sail around the world. A quick read but interesting if (like me) you find yourself drawn to curious, anarchist, nerds with a strong humanist bent.
I was struck by the similarities between long distance sailing and backpacking. The risks and scales seem greater, but the self sufficiency, self discovery, and relationship to nature were very familiar.
