I had a balance due of $0.41 at my doctor's office. I asked, "how on earth is that even possible?" They explained that, when they billed insurance, the medical insurance paid the invoice except for $0.41. She says she sees this all the time.

All I can figure is that it's another underhanded practice to screw people over to make money. The vile insurance companies can pull this stunt on hundreds of thousands, and count the benefit in their ledgers as profit.

I hate insurance companies.
