Deep bedding method and diatomaceous earth are amazing for keeping stink and bugs away. Be prepared for more destruction than you're thinking. When we were in suburbia, we had no more than a dozen at a time in about that same size enclosure. These birds can dig some nasty holes when they're enclosed so I would personally recommend no more than maybe half a dozen hens if that's all the space they're gonna have. All I've ever done for winters is wrap the coop in plastic drop cloth to keep them warmer at night, but we don't have super harsh winters here except for maybe a week or two. Avoiding metal roosts and giving them a way to get out of the wind are important things for winter.
