I believe the main reasons behind the new tour are the 50+ year anniversary and their desire to play live again and have some fun. For themselves and for the fans.
Of all bands, I really don’t believe Rush would consciously make any disrespectful move toward Neil. And if they somehow did, the fans wouldn’t take it.
As for Anika, I’ve been following her for many years because of her drumming educational activities, so I’m kind of used to how she looks while playing :) But I get your point about her looking particularly rigid. I noticed that too, but then I thought, man, she’s filling in for one of the greatest - not just drummers, but musicians - in history. Imagine her mind while playing those first few shows. The amount of responsibility and focus must be freaking over the top! (Emily from the new Linkin Park could tell..)
I’m giving her a break for those reasons. I’m pretty sure that after a while, she will become more relaxed, and it will show in her drumming.
