Actually trying out not using desktop icons. I feel a little lost not seeing them up there in the top left, but I noticed that whenever I go anywhere on my file systems, I effectively exclusively use the Nautilus shortcut in my dock.
I currently have no running projects with files I need quick access to - which I usually dump on the desktop - so I might turn them back on as soon as I do.
