I don’t think AI labs should be allowed to go public for some initial period. At least with SpaceX, Grok/xAI are attached to other businesses, some of them even profitable, and Elon can float some expense with his personal fortune. Having these labs beholden to shareholders while trying to navigate decisions about AI’s development related to ethics and public use is insane if you buy the strong case of their expected growth.
