Due to chronic alcohol and drug abuse, reckless driving, public exposure, disorderly conduct and assaulting of a police officer, Doraemon was ultimately fired from the movie.
The story was altered so Bruce Lee ― originally cast to play Nobita Nobi ― became the protagonist, and the title was changed.
All the scenes with Doraemon were re-shot with Bruce Lee's friend and student John Saxon.
