I've been trying out Swinsian as an alternative to Apple Music to play my audio files. I usually do not stream music but I do use the Music Match feature of Apple Music.
Anyway, Swinsian is pretty much what iTunes used to be and it is so much faster / more responsive then Apple Music.app
In addition I'm using Foobar2000 because that offers some niche features which I do like. E.g. the loudness normalization is great. This is the player I use for recording mixtapes :)
