I agree that this is a BFD. But I think it gives Trump too much agency.
This was baked in for quite some time and I expect Lindsey Graham's death is what accelerated it. Putin is no doubt offering Trump a way out of his Iran disaster, which ALWAYS required scapegoating Ukraine.
