Last year, I asked a very senior, recently retired admiral:
“Why hasn’t the USCG made a single arrest, despite dozens of known sex offenders?”
His answer stuck with me:
“Because the most sick and evil people I met in my career in law enforcement all shared one trait: they were overwhelmingly nice.”
Today, you can get away with almost any sin as long as you’re “kind” and “nice” to everyone except your victims.
A truly moral man can have his reputation destroyed for losing his temper once.
But a truly evil man? He can commit violent crimes and walk free because everyone says:
“No way—it can’t be him. He’s sooo nice.”
I’m not accusing Zohran of anything like that. But I will say this:
Communism has caused more death and suffering than any ideology in history.
Yet we excuse it, because he looks harmless and is sooo nice.
I don’t know when “niceness” replaced character.
I don’t know when tough love became the worst trait a father could have.
But I’m done voting for people just because they’re harmless looking and sooo nice.
